Hillbilly Nationalists tells the stories of working class white people who allied themselves with the Black Panther Party and the Young Lords in the original (pre-Jessie Jackson) Rainbow Coalitions. Prior to publication, histories of the Young Patriots Organization, Rising Up Angry, JOIN Community Union October 4th Organization and White Lightning were at the margins of New Left.
